How to Get Music Programs into Local Schools

Hey there, music enthusiasts! In this video, I've got some crazy stuff to show you about how we got music programs into about 40 local schools. I've got some packs to show you and some links to some PDFs you can have. This is crazy because it was one of the big secrets that got us from zero to two thousand students. Over half of those students were taking lessons in school time. So why did we bother to do this? Let me explain.

Creating More Opportunities

Not everyone wants to give up every single evening for music lessons. Some people actually want to have some of that time during the day taken up with teaching and be able to offer people more hours. By teaching from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., we can provide longer shifts for our teachers and more work and money for both the teacher and the music school. So, we started thinking about how to get programs into schools.

The Benefits of School Programs

There are several benefits to getting music programs into schools:

  1. Creates more work during the day
  2. Makes better jobs for music teachers
  3. Retains teachers longer by giving them more hours and more money
  4. Convenient for parents as their kids are already at school
  5. Kids are already used to group classes, making lessons more affordable
  6. Acts as a stepping stone into regular after-school lessons

Building an Information Pack

One of the key things we did was create a professional-looking information pack. We showcased our programs, the teachers, the curriculum, and the rewards system we had in place. The pack included pictures, social proof, and all the necessary information to get schools interested. It looked amazing, and schools were impressed by what we had to offer.

Getting into Schools

Instead of just sending emails or knocking on doors, we took the time to build an awesome information pack. This made a huge difference in getting schools to pay attention to us. The pack became something they couldn't throw away and it gave us a reason to follow up. We also made sure to target principals and decision-makers in the school who would have the power to bring in our program. This approach worked wonders.
