The Circle of Cash: Building a Successful Music School

Hey there! Welcome to my blog. Today, I want to share with you a little marketing secret that we used to build the largest music school in New Zealand. Not only that, but we've also used this same tactic to create the most successful coaching program for music schools in the world. It's called the Circle of Cash, and I'm going to show you how you can replicate it in your own studio, no matter what size you're at. Trust me, it's simple and a lot of fun!

Before we dive into the details, let's break down the four steps of the Circle of Cash:

  1. Get a student
  2. Get student results
  3. Get a testimonial
  4. Leverage the testimonial

The key to success with the Circle of Cash is consistency. You need to follow through with all four steps and implement them effectively. Let's go over each step in detail:

Step 1: Get a Student

Obviously, the first step is to get a student. This is where it all begins. You need to attract your first student and get them excited about joining your music school.

Step 2: Get Student Results

Once you have a student, it's important to help them achieve results. Whether it's performing a song, mastering a trick, or jamming in a band, you want to make sure they have a visually and audibly impressive outcome that they're excited about. This will not only make them happy but also create a great visual for testimonials.

Step 3: Get a Testimonial

Now that your student has achieved great results, it's time to capture their excitement in a testimonial. I recommend recording a video testimonial where you ask them fun questions to make them comfortable on camera. This will help them loosen up and provide genuine feedback about their experience with your music school.

Step 4: Leverage the Testimonial

Here's where most people miss out. Once you have a powerful testimonial, you need to leverage it to attract new customers. Share the video on social media, utilize YouTube as a search engine, and optimize your content with relevant keywords. Additionally, build an email list and regularly send out success stories and testimonials to remind people about your school and motivate them to join.

By consistently following the Circle of Cash and implementing these steps, you'll be miles ahead of your competition. Most music schools and teachers neglect the power of testimonials and fail to leverage them effectively. By doing so, you'll establish a strong presence and attract more customers over time.

If you're still unsure about how to execute the Circle of Cash, don't worry! We've successfully applied this strategy at our own music school, Good Time Music Academy. We grew from zero to two thousand students, surpassing the next biggest music school in the area by a significant margin. We've also created a program called Build a Music School, which helps other music school owners achieve the same results. Feel free to check it out at buildamusicschool.com.
